
Dr. Thapaliya is from the beautiful country of Nepal, home of the highest summit, Mount Everest. After receiving a merit scholarship awarded by the government, he attended Medical School at the Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Nepal. He was the recipient of multiple awards and honors in medical school including the “Most Talented Student Award” and multiple gold medals with certificates of honor. He completed his residency at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Pennsylvania where he received the “Resident of the Year Award” in 2008. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has been recognized for his oral presentations at the Mayo Clinic Academic excellence day (2009) and the American College of Physicians (ACP) Regional meeting (2006). He is board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Dr Thapaliya is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), American College of Physicians (ACP), The Arizona Clinical Oncology Society (TACOS) and Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC). He enjoys art literature and especially poetry. He is fluent in Hindi and Nepali. Dr Thapaliya is involved in several charitable organizations, including one focused on the Nepali immigration community in the US. He enjoys trekking and has been to the base camp of the Annapurna Mountain in Nepal.
